More of Petra


I missed uploading some other great shots of Petra. Therefore, this post is just a follow-up to the last blog showing some of those shots.

Obvious Roman influence, this building was used as a Christian place of worship
in the Roman Era

Mrs. Gym at Petra

The colors in this facade were truly amazing dominated by the mineralized Iron
which gave it the pinks and reds but also influenced by other minerals which
bring out purples, browns, yellows and greens.

These partially eroded steps lead up to the water 'pipe' which comes down along the side
of the Siq. You can see the line in the wall which is the waterway which has been carved
out of the side of the cliff.


This is the inner courtyard of the Petra Movenpick Hotel.
If you were going to overnight in Petra, I would recommend this establishment.
The wife and I had a wonderful lunch here.
