Oman - Part One

We sailed into Muscat, Oman this morning, having crossed a mostly smooth Arabian Sea over the past two days. Oman has a beautiful coastline and for the first time our portside berth yielded the best view as we raised land and glided into our first port in the Middle East.  We had a great tour here today and will be coming back to Muscat and Oman in subsequent blogs because there is plenty to talk about and show you in the photos we took. I just wanted you all to know that we are well and having a great time.

The highlight of the day today was the tour of the Grand Mosque in Muscat. I will try to give you a sense of it tomorrow but for now I will leave you with a few pictures:

Muscat as we cruise into port at 6 am

Note all women need covered arms and ankles as well as head

I will talk about this later. It is incredible!

Pointing to Mecca which in this case is west!
